ChatGPT and AINIRO helping Refugees in Kenya

AREL is a refugee organisation in Kenya with a unique vision. Instead of asking others for help, they asked themselves how they could help rich companies in Europe and North America. Seriously, I am not kidding!

The point with AREL is that they've got lots of really talented human resources, such as James Anzuruni that designed their website for instance. Such knowledge is valuable in Europe and US, so they started an organisation who's goal it was to employ refugees as remote workers for rich companies in other parts of the world. Resulting in that instead of asking for help, they start out the conversation with "How can we help". The fact that those on the giving parts of the table have nothing, and those on the receiving parts of the table have everything, seems to be "minor details" for the talented and gifted people at Kakuma Camp.

I swear, you couldn't make up this stuff if you tried!

I have collaborated with AREL previously, for a long time in fact, and as we started AINIRO they immediately reached out to us and asked us how they could help us. I immediately offered them to become partners, which implies they'll help us sell our product in return for revenue share - And today James managed to map in their own custom ChatGPT based website chatbot on their website. I tested it just now with the following question;

How can AREL help my company

Here's its answer;

Hi there! 👋 Thank you for your interest in AREL. We believe that partnerships are key to achieving our mission of empowering refugees and host communities. By partnering with us, your company can help us provide tech training, education, access to capital, and create supportive environments for refugees and host communities to achieve economic independence. Your company can also benefit from the diverse skills and talents of the refugee community, which can lead to a more inclusive and innovative workplace. Let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to learn more about partnering with AREL. 😊

Below is a screenshot of their chatbot in action.

AREL partnering up with AINIRO

Next week Aria will teach them everything related to configuring and setting up our ChatGPT chatbots. And hopefully during next week they'll even be able to white label our product in its entirety, allowing them to make money selling ChatGPT website chatbots to clients in Europe and US who can afford to buy such products.

Don't get me wrong, whatever money you pay for such a chatbot will partially go to us - After all, if there's no business value in this, the whole vision collapses - So the idea is to provide meaningful work for people in need, while also "doing business" and making money for western companies.

Without dignity while working for a living to support yourself and your family, there can be no sustainable future

However, a large portion of whatever you pay AREL for a chatbot will also benefit the community in their refugee camp in Kenya, allowing them to pay for necessities, and make a decent life for themselves, helping out "rich" companies in the west at the same time.

There are two types of people

I often say that there are two types of people;

  1. Those who believe the amount of cake in the world is finite, and therefor have to steal their piece from others
  2. Those who are too busy baking more cake to find the time to steal cake from others

It's easy to see how AREL, James, Kiza and the others in Kakuna Refugee Camp in Keny belongs to the second category. Some of the services AREL will provide in addition to chatbots starting from next week, include;

  • Webdesign
  • Canva design
  • Technical assistance
  • Social media account management
  • Marketing
  • And more ...

Se AREL's website for more details if you're looking to hire somebody who is skilled and really needs a job.

It takes a village to raise a company 😊
