Discontinuing the Open Source Version of Magic Cloud

Discontinuing the Open Source Version of Magic Cloud

A couple of weeks ago we celebrated 10 million downloads of our Open Source platform. Such a milestone of course makes us very proud. However, there's just one problem with the figures. None of those downloading are contributing in any ways, neither in regards to code, nor in regards to monetary funds.

It is therefor with a heavy heart we see ourselves forced to discontinue our open source offering, and continue maintenance of Magic Cloud as a closed source project. The current GitHub repository will still exist, and anyone can download the current version of Magic - But we will no longer provide updates to it or maintain it in any ways. All future maintenance of Magic will be in the form of closed source commits, to a forked repository.

Professional license

As an alternative, we do however provide 2 new products starting as of today. These are as follows.

  • Magic Cloud Single Server License, priced at $5,000 per month
  • Magic Cloud Kubernetes Cluster License, priced at $20,000 per month

Both of the above versions comes with support, in addition to all code, and all future changes, as long as the code is exlusively used within a single organisation, being the organisation the license is specified for. In addition we provide Docker images and support and help installing things initially - Both in Kubernetes and on a single server. If you're interested in start talking with us about a professional license, you can contact us below.
