Making Magic Open Source

Today we release Magic as Open Source. This implies you can freely download it and install it on your own servers. We've chosen to license it under the terms of the MIT license, which is the most permissive license in the world, allowing you to literally do anything you wish with the platform without asking us for permission. This implies that starting from today, the most mature and stable AI Agent platform in the world is literally free of charge to use, for those not having the monetary means to pay our standard service license fee. FYI, if you actually try to install it, you might start realising why we're charging what we're charging. This is intended to be a move to "serve the under served", and not an alternative for companies capable of actually paying for our service.

Reasons

We're simply struggling with too many people not being able to afford our hosted solutions. These again asks us for a special price, which we can't do for reasons you'll understand as you try to install it on your own servers and try to create something out of it. So to accommodate this problem, we've chosen to simply open source the entire platfor allowing these to install it on their own servers as they see fit.

We've always been a "serivce company" anyways, and not really a product company, so having the platform being closed source, accomplishes little for us.

With this move we're hoping to get developers on board helping us out, testing the system, providing feedback and patches - And such indirectly through their efforts help us move the system forward into a next generation AI platform.

This makes Magic Cloud the only open source AI Agent platform with generative AI built into its software development as far as we know.

Notice, we cannot provide support for open source usage, and depending upon how much usage we see in our Hyperlambda Generator, we might have to start charging for access to it later. But at least for now, the entire platform is open source, and you can even generate, create, and maintain Hyperlambda code using our built-in AI backend generator for free!
