We Stopped All Marketing and did 10x on sales

The first 12 months I was running AINIRO I spent roughly $15,000 on ads and got nothing back. I also spent a lot of time reading about marketing, communication strategies, website strategies, marketing, sales psychology, etc.

I also employed several contractors, all of whom told me they would generate leads for me. In addition I would periodically send out newsletters to our 500+ subs, yet nothing seemed to work. We were growing, but way to slow, and we were paying way too much for way too little.

A month ago I stopped giving a sjit, and since then sales have gone crazy, and I'm almost at the point where I've got more leads than I can handle now.

Getting rid of all marketing seems to be the best marketing I've ever done!

Breaking all the rules

I probably have a minor case of Tourette syndrom. When I see junkware I simply must talk about it. Badly created software results in an anger burst I can only resolve by talking publicly about it. Something you've probably noticed the last month if you've been reading my articles.

According to traditional marketing you're never supposed to talk badly about your competitors. The problem I'm facing is they're all basically sjit, and I get a Tourette seizure every time I see one of them.

In addition there's so much AI garbage out there, I'm almost at the point where I'm ashamed of publicly admitting I've got an AI chatbot company. Every time somebody asks me what I do, I answer ...

I've got an AI chatbot company, but we actually have a legitimate product!

My reasons for adding the disclaimer is because 99.999999999999999999999% of all AI companies out there, especially those built on ChatGPT, are either scams or garbage products - In case you haven't noticed. Every single day I get offers on Facebook for AI-based rug pull schemes, where some bandit company wants to sell me on their garbage chatbot. You can easily weed out all the bandits BTW by seeing how they advertise themselves with the following ...

Temporary lifetime deal, pay $49, have chatbot forever ... 🤪

The result for me becomes that my honour dictates that I compare our AI chatbot to other AI chatbots, to simply prevent people from believing I'm trying to scam them or sell them over priced garbage. So I've ended up in this peculiar situation where I'm breaking all marketing rules that exists, and arguably doing "anti marketing", and everybody tells me it'll destroy my sales.

Yet still, somehow magically, I'm now selling 10x as much as I did when I did my best to do "right marketing" - Which reminds me of ... 😂

People are tired of BS

The way I see it as I try to explain this effect is that delivering AI chatbots has now turned into a "marketing anomaly". Ddue to so many scams, people seems to be receptive to raw truth, in a way they normally wouldn't be for "normal products". This gives me an "unfair advantage" of course, due to my "Tourette issues".

Combined with me no longer having to spend 2 hours every day trying to teach myself how to create great Google Ads campaigns, something I can guarantee you is not even possible - This releases energy that I can now use on delivering great products and great service.

Where I'm getting clients from?

To be honest with you, I have no idea. I know a lot of clients are being referred from other clients, due to everybody that we deliver an AI chatbot to of course becomes super impressed once we've delivered. However, a lot of my leads simply cannot be explained.

When I look through Plausible, I see that "Direct / None" is my largest growing source for the time being, implying I'm not getting more leads through Google, Facebook, or any other social media platform. It seems as people are simply sending links on emails and chats to each other because they simply want to share a great product with their friends.

So my assumption is that clients I have previously served are so impressed about our product, that they send it to their friends, and such encouraging others to try us out. However, and I cannot emphasise this strongly enough ...

I don't care where I'm getting leads for! And neither should you!

I only care about one thing, which is to deliver the next kick ass feature, the next kick ass AI chatbot, and making the next customer as happy as I possibly can. Implying, I don't care about "marketing" anymore. We tried marketing and it didn't work. However, if you create a kick ass product, and you deliver kick ass service, there seems to be something that's hardwired into the universe ensuring you success - And I'll take it! So to conclude ...

Sorry Mac, we tried marketing, and it doesn't work 😂
